Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of New Selenazole Derivatives with Antiproliferative Activity
2013
New aryl-hydrazinyl-1,3-selenazole and aroyl-hydrazonyl-1,3-selenazoles were synthesized via Hantzsch type condensation reactions of selenosemicarbazides with α-halogenocarbonyl derivatives, under classical versus microwave heating conditions. Excellent yields and shorter reaction times were obtained under irradiation conditions. The structures of the synthesized compounds were assigned based on spectroscopic data (FT-IR, 1 H-NMR), MS and elemental analysis. Selenazole derivatives were screened for their anti-proliferative effects against two leukemia cell lines (CCRF-CEM and HL60) and three carcinoma cell lines (MDA-MB231, HCT116 and U87MG).
Flash microwave synthesis of trevorite nanoparticles.
2008
Nickel ferrite nanoparticles have several possible applications as cathode materials for rechargeable batteries, named 'lithium-ion' batteries. In this study, NiFe{sub 2}O{sub 4} was prepared by microwave induced thermohydrolysis. The obtained nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET method, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). All the results show that the microwave one-step flash synthesis leads in a very short time to NiFe{sub 2}O{sub 4} nanoparticles with elementary particles size close to 4-5 nm, and high specific surfaces (close to 240 m…
Microwave heating as a tool for coupling Marangoni and Hickman instabilities
2007
The aim of this paper is the linear stability analysis of an evaporating interface in order to justify hydrodynamic behaviors observed during evaporation of water and ethanol simultaneously under microwave irradiation and reduced pressure. In relation to the local character of the thermal conversion of electromagnetic energy, and of the thermal dependency of the dielectric loss, it seems possible under microwave heating to induce a specific hydrodynamic compared to those induced by conventional heating.
Flash microwave synthesis and sintering of nanosized La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.93Ru0.07o3–δ for fuel cell application.
2009
International audience; Perovskite-oxide nanocrystals of La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.93Ru0.07O3–δ with a mean size around 10 nm were prepared by microwave flash synthesis. This reaction was performed in alcoholic solution using metallic salts, sodium ethoxide and microwave autoclave. The obtained powder was characterised after purification by energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), BET adsorption technique, photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that integrated perovskite-type phase and uniform particle size were obtained in the microwave treated samples. At last the synthesised powder was directly used in a sin…
